Moon Taxi’s upcoming show at the Mobile Saenger Theatre has been postponed until November due to repair work in progress at the venue. The Saenger’s early-fall schedule has been disrupted by cleanup work related to a mold problem discovered in late August.
Management company SMG released a statement this week saying that the situation involved a small amount of nontoxic mold, but that an extensive cleanup was being conducted “out of an abundance of caution.”
The Saenger announced Wednesday that the Moon Taxi concert scheduled for Oct. 4 has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9. It will remain at the Saenger, and all previously purchased tickets will be valid for the new date. Ticketholders also may seek refunds at the outlets where they purchased their tickets.
Several shows have been relocated to the Mobile Civic Center Theater, including the Mobile Sympony Orchestra season opener “Ole! The Music of Spain & Cuba.” The MSO presents those shows Saturday and Sunday, Sept 21-22; for full information visit www.mobilesymphony.org.
According to SMG, plans for affected shows “will be made on a case-by-case basis.” Others that may be relocated or rescheduled include Alison Krauss on Oct. 12, Alter Bridge & Skillet on Oct. 16 and Switchfoot on Oct. 25.
