Phoenix - The Arizona School Facilities Board has announced it will review a court decision that denied funding to Tempeís Corona del Sol High School to fix its aging ventilation system.

Tempe Union High School District spokeswoman Linda Littell said she was notified that the board will review the case at its next meeting 10 a.m. April 3 in Prescott. The meeting will be at the Prescott Unified School District offices, 146 Granite St.

Last month, an administrative law judge upheld the state boardís decision to deny $17 million in emergency state funds to fix the schoolís 30-year-old ventilation system, which health reports have shown is causing elevated carbon dioxide levels, stale air and an environment ripe for mold growth.

Since then, parents and some community members have lobbied state legislators and policy-makers to fix the problem.

The state Attorney Generalís office advised that each party will have five minutes to present oral arguments to the state facilities board, and then the board will vote to accept, modify or reject the courtís decision.

The board will not consider evidence or testimony that was not presented at the court hearing, which was held in January.

After the board completes its business for the day, there will be a public comment period.
